Very soft fleece from a Finsheep-Southdown Babydoll cross sheep located a nearby farm. I botanically dye in small batches with plants I grow on my property or procure from neighboring local farmers, mordanted with alum.
Finnsheep wool is typically soft, lustrous, and has a width of around 24-30 microns. Southdown Babydoll wool is springy and resilient, with high barbs per inch count. The micron count typically ranges from 23 to 29. This particular cross fleece takes on more of the babydoll characteristics in my opinion. It is lovely to work with either spinning or felting. It will be comfortable to wear next to the skin for most people.

Our fibers come from our small flock of happy, healthy, pastured sheep & alpaca, as well as from a couple of neighboring small farms whom we have visited and can assure care for their herds well. All of our fibers are processed carefully, by hand.

🧡PRODUCT CARE🧡Store in a dry place. Handwash only. Agitation will cause felting. Blend, felt, spin, weave, or whatever you prefer. Wool moths can be prevented by freezing wool, or by using cedar, lavender, orange, and other scented blocks, satchels, etc in the storage area. Do not apply scented oils directly to the wool to avoid staining.
